These Top Shots were designed with the Long Range Tuna fisherman in mind. When the "bite" is on or in "rough" seas these are the quickest and most reliable method to quickly change chafed or parted line.Each Top Shot is made with a "double" loop splice at each end of the spool. The first loop splice is used to connect to the "backing" on the reel. The second loop splice at the other end of the spool of mono is used to attach a Wind-on leader. Both of these connections are normally made using a double or triple cats paw knot.
