If you're serious about offshore fishing, don't be caught without a Shimano Tiagra A reel in your arsenal. This reel is the crème of the conventional reel crop. With a machined aluminum frame and sideplates, a cold-forged aluminum spool, chrome-plated sideplate screws, anti-rust bearings, a Twin Pawl anti-reverse system, a ratcheting drag lever and an offset ergonomic power grip, what's not to like?! Plus, these Tiagra A reels feature traditional-style drag curves. This provides full use of the lever in the Warning position due to the creation of an area of low drag-pressure just above the Strike. This pressure is heavy enough to hold bait in the wake, but light enough to make sure when the big boy bites, the hook's stayin' in his mouth! You get the best of both worlds by being able to reach higher drag pressures with heavy lines but still enjoying the benefits of the Warning position. So like we said before, save yourself the trouble (and potential embarrassment!), and don't be caught without a Tiagra A.
