This release clip can be used with a kite, a downrigger or on your outriggers. For Outriggers: Run monofilament line through the eyes in the outrigger and then run each end of the mono into the top and bottom holes of the clip. You will crimp the two mono ends in the middle of the clip. This will save you from having to put a cork/stopper at the top of the clip. Rigging it this way will also keep the clip from getting hung up in your outrigger. For Kite: We like to use braided line on the kite setup. The way we rig clips is simple: Run line through as many clips as you think you want to use on a kite setup (1 to 3 clips). Once the kite is out, the braided line will be pulled out and wrapped around the entire clip. This will keep the clip(s) from sliding. For Downrigger: Simply slide the clips on the main downrigger line down to the downrigger ball. The clips will slide down to the downrigger ball.
